A School that Empowers Students to be Active Learners in the Community
CPAS School (CPASS) West is a double-session Special Education (SPED) school serving students with moderate to severe multiple disabilities. We offer the SPED Curriculum as recommended by the Ministry of Education. Through our mission of equipping our students with a holistic education to live meaningfully, learn continuously and work productively, they learn and develop in the following seven domains:
- Social-Emotional
- Communication & Language
- Numeracy
- Daily Living
- Vocational
- Physical Education
- Arts
Students are categorised into two levels, according to their ages:
- Junior Level (7 years to 12 years)
- Senior Level (13 years to 18 years)
CPASS offers two different programmes:
- Functional Programme
- High Support Programme
The Trans-Disciplinary Approach
A Trans-Disciplinary (Trans-D) Approach is integrated into the curriculum, where a Trans-D team consisting of the SPED Teacher, Physiotherapist, Occupational Therapist, Speech and Language Pathologist, Social Worker, Psychologist and parents/caregivers collaborate to provide holistic education and support to help the child maximise his or her developmental growth.
