Track and Field – CCA

CCA Track Field
Winning medals is not the only goal for our CCA: We aim to promote participation and facilitate building of sport skills, and sportsmanship through training and competitions. Students learn an array of skills such as agility and stamina training, start positions, 60m, 100m and 200 meter run, wheelchair race and field event such as adaptive shot-put and javelin.
Objectives
  • Equip students with skills for the different track and field games and events
  • Develop each student’s potential, mental resilience and foster competitive spirit
  • Develop confidence, self-esteem, teamwork and sportsmanship
Criteria
Students should:
  • Be able to listen and follow instructions
  • Have passion for running and enjoy sports
  • Be able to endure training under the sun.
  • Be independent in toileting and are able to wheel independently and have a sense of direction (for students who are wheelchair-users)

In 2021, there were no activities for all Niche CCAs due to Covid-19.

Training in School during Covid-19 Situation
  • Term 2, 3 and 4 at CPASS
CCA Track and Field Training sessions for students of CCA Track and Field in CPASS have continued in the midst of Covid-19 situation. Sports and physical activities are vital in ensuring that students are able to sustain their stamina and fitness during the challenging period. Training sessions have taken new routines for coach, teachers and students. New routines such as physical distancing, the minimized sharing of equipment, wiping down of sports equipment as well as hand sanitisation are maintained during the sessions. Everyone’s safety and well-being are ensured at all time.

  • 7 students participated in the event on Cold Storage Kids Run 2019.

CCA Track & Field & Swimming Overseas Trip 2019
  • 19 June to 22 June 2019 in Nakhon Nayok, Thailand
  • 11 students from both Swimming and Track and Field CCA participated in the adventure overseas trip to Nakhon Nayok, Thailand. 6 students were from Track & Field CCA. It was definitely an adventure trip that challenged the students out of their comfort zone.

  • 11 students participated in the event on Inclusive Sports Festival 2019. It was a fun-filled day with exciting activities and games for the students to participate in.
